While checking my DNA matches on Ancestry.com I found a new cousin.
I was reviewing my “not viewed” ancestors who had “unlinked trees”.
I found that Michaiel Roberts is a descendant of George W. and Anna Banta Hollcroft. George and Anna are my 4th great-grandparents.
Michaiel descends from their son Elijah. I am a descendant of their son Daniel.
Ancestry.com did not indicate that Michaiel and I had a common ancestor. I compared our “unlinked trees” and was able to determine that we DID have a common ancestor.
Sometimes checking your 4th-8th cousins who have family trees that are “unlinked” can still result in successful connections.
